  Reverse Witnessing - Will NEVER work!

  its been a while since i spoke up.

  after a lot of 'tactful' questioning, i have come under the conclusion that witnessing ttatt with dubs will never work.

  there is nothing called reasoning with them.

  Here's something that bothered both my husband and I....

  Sitting at the 2010 District Convention, listening to the Bethel speaker make a joke about Harold Camping "How can someone be so stupid that they think they can guess the date and be wrong! Hahahah.. And people actually believed him!" (not exact words, but basic idea)

  The whole audience laughed along! My husband and I looked at each other, felt sorry for 'Harold' and thought, "this is so sad! they are laughing at people who are sincere, and what in the HECK has the WT been doing it's whole LIFE!? Guessing!!! Telling us WHEN Armageddon is coming, then blaming US for believing them!"

  This type of 'little' thing added up... helped us see the TRUE persona of the WTBS!

  Want to know why people accept evolution ?

  do you have questions about or want to understand evolution?

  it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.

  we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

  Wowzers and dowzers!

  Thx, TD & Cofty... and yes, I am having a bit of a fun day .. I am not trying to be mean... but still pondering..

  I guess I really wanted to ask those questions forEVer ;-)

  No, Cofty, I am not super duper educated, haven't read up on evolution to the max, but from the rules of nature that i see, I thought I was being logical.

  If I can, I'd like to ask you: Are you saying that everyone has the possibility of becoming an Ass? (haha) (Yes, just being 'ironic')

  But, seriously, I guess I'll have to study up on the possibilities of zygotes becoming anything they want to become. When I worked as a Teacher's Aide at a High School, the teacher had the kids make a 'gene chart' with possibilities of dog's tail length, eye color, fur, and leg length. The kids could only make 'dogs' within the gene codes of mom and daddy dog.. No exceptions. I do not understand how creatures can turn into other creatures if they are limited by their "genes."

  Aaaaaaannnddd, since you might be able to help me understand, Cofty, what about DNA? Chromosomes? and the "Periodic Table of the Elements"?? All of these things call for precision, order, and yes, design... Try making a chart yourself without any research, just start making things up, and you won't have 'order', predictability. Scientists knew that some of the elements existed before they were even discovered, simply because? yep, there HAD to be something between A B C and E F G. (I am not giving specifics, don't have too much time, but you are aware of what I am referring to, right?)

  Wait a minute here.....

  Lion & Tiger... hmmmm "cat family"... that is realistic that they could breed...

  Same thing with Mule and Hinny... "horse family"

  Just because a line "ends," becomes 'sterile', 'drifts apart' does not automatically say "hey, they all came from one thing"

  In fact, to me, it means "less variety", they can only breed with those of their "family."

  No one has ever explained how a bear, raccoon, cat, whatever, can become a porcupine? hmm.... quillls, throwing them, etc. Ok, one piece of fur becomes a quill... Then, a million years later, another pice of fur becomes a quilll... then that family of "quill creatures" dies off... Start over... How many quills does a porcupine have? 30,000.

  Not that I believe in a "God" anymore, however, I do see evidence of design.... So, let's say I believe in "an inventor." Not that I have all the answers, nope... but I won't accept theories or guesses or assumptions or leaps in logic any, any, more. Science will be put to the test, taken to task, just like the WT.

  the moment the leadership of the wt (a publishing company whose purpose was originally to produce pamphlets and books to edify christians) first made the claim to be gods sole channel of communication for dispensing biblical truth here on earth.

  that not so discreet assumption has now left them wide open to 'everything they teach as truth'.

  as a result, every time an error is exposed or a teaching is changed, their credibility will continue to be affected.

  articles such at "100 years of kingdom rule" in which jehovah has 'in a sense' begun ruling as king, and jesus in a sense was made king.

  even though the kingdom hasn't actually come.

  it's not clear if the 1,000 year reign has began or not, if so only 900 years left of jesus rule?

Either the WT can point out the TRUTH about that they were completely SURE what was going to happen in 1914 and see their socalled predictions were false, OR say they foretold 1914 years in advance, they had no idea what was going to happen, but they knew something was going to happen. EVERYBODY SIGN UP!!! Infact, I predict that tomorrow something is going to happen, I don't know what, but it is significant and if you turn on the news, you'll see it's true, something will happen!

  Im new and need help!

  hello everybody, before i begin i just wanna say that i have really found alot of great posts on here that have been helpful forme , theres definitely alot of brilliant people here!.

  i am a born in jw(24 years old) ive been baptized for 7 years and was a ministerial servant for 4 years(i am no longer one).

  recently me and my parents have have woken up to ttatt(about 2 months ago).

  That is so true Batman!

  (what just kidding said is so true)

  We met a guy who had been "out" & DF'd for 20 years, but he kept feeling like he might need to come back, tho he never thought he would. So, he never got married, tho he wanted to, and had this circular reasoning for twenty years, never 'going' anywhere in his batmobile...

  Someone I know had nightmares about 'returning.' Nightmares that they would somehow be drug back into the religion, that his parents would return, and the nightmare would keep going... The WT digs deep into brains, making it hard for some to ever forget.

  Start anew with a freshoutlook...

  Give yourself a couple of years to get your head on straight, to know what you really desire, what you reallly think (your own thoughts, not WTBS) and just breathe....

  Life does go on, it changes, it gets better.

  OK, so, now we have turtles..

  How did THIS turtle "think" / "get" this worm tongue? Did he "need it"? No, there are lots of other turtles that "survive" w/o it.

  Once he "got" this 'worm tongue', he had to survive to pass it on to his kids... But maybe he didn't find a mate, and died off before he could, or maybe his gene pool did not let him pass this gene on, and his kids did not inherit it...

  How did he learn to use it? Did he even know he had it? and how did his kids learn?.... etc.

  Any ideas? Explanations?

  I would love to hear.......
